INTERLOCKING DOTS TUTORIAL!
- You will need: two different colored polishes (I used Deborah Lippmann “Almost Paradise” and Sally Hansen “Pacific Blue”) & a dotting tool.
- Paint your nails with Color 1.
- Draw one diagonal line with Color 2; I freehanded mine, but if you’re unable to do straight lines, use tape! Making sure Color 1 is completely dry first.
- Fill in the area above the diagonal with Color 2.
- Take Color 1 & space dots equidistant ABOVE the diagonal line.
- Fill in the gaps underneath the diagonal with dots of Color 2.
- Continue to use Color 2 and place dots diagonally to the dots you made in Step 6.
- Take Color 1 and repeat Step 7.
- Clean up cuticles using acetone and a small brush!
JUNE 30 DAYS OF UNTRIEDS: DAY 5
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Coral Reef ($2.99 for 0.40 fl. oz.)
Coral Reef is a simple pink creme; nothing fancy about it, but it’s still my go-to pink. It’s not too neon, but not baby pink. It’s coral pink! So cute ^^
The drying time is average, and I am quite fond of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear brushes and the formula is excellent—opaque in two coats!

JUNE 30 DAYS OF UNTRIEDS: DAY 4 (almost didn’t make it, lol…7 minutes until midnight)
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Black Tie ($5.99 for 0.50 fl. oz.)
Black Tie is an amazing charcoal black with a purple/green duochrome. It really is amazing. You see purple in its entirety, green in its entirety, and flashes of both sometimes! I am in love with the entire Sally Hansen Diamond Strength line’s bottle shape. It’s got facets on the bottle itself and a fantastic handle and perfect sized brush.
The formula of Black Tie is perfect—takes only 2-3 three coats to reach full opacity and the drying time is quite rapid. It is a teensy bit streaky, but that means nothing to me—cos the color outweighs this minor con. Honestly, a hidden gem! I believe it is also a dupe for Borghese’s Stella Notte~
